Purpose of Narrative Study:

This study was part of a larger study that included a Canada-wide survey and examination of documents on nursing. Registered nurses who were currently working, or who had recently worked in rural and remote settings were invited to talk about their experiences in practice. We heard the stories of practice from at least 150 nurses across Canada, and from a full range of practice settings (primary care, acute care, community health, home care and long term care).
